The ACS (Chem Club) is a great place for ALL majors to get involved on campus. We participate in many events such as National Chemistry Week, Volunteering, Fundraising, tutoring, and club events such as Game Nights and a back-to-school picnic/bonfire.

PennWest University Clarion is home to a national chapter of Student Affiliates of American Chemical Society, also known as ACS Club or Chemistry Club. Our objectives, as a student affiliate chapter, are 1) to raise awareness among students for chemical sciences, 2) to aid the study and application of chemistry, 3) to provide support from fellow organization members, faculty and staff, and 4) to allow opportunities for professional development. The objectives are achieved by community services, events/activities, and peer tutoring. Although our organization has the word “chemical” in the name, ALL majors are welcome and encouraged to join!

The ALA-PennWest Clarion Campus Student Organization aims to connect students interested in Library and Information Science, but is open to anyone who enjoys libraries, books, and reading! Each semester our meetings feature speakers from various subsets of the LIS field. We also host book clubs and offer other fun social activities (e.g., trivia night, vision board making, etc.). COGS aims to prepare students for their future careers and provide a community for all students interested in creating video games.

At COGS meetings, we aim to showcase the niche set of skills and tools relevant to the creation of video games. We will host and facilitate game jams and team projects so that students can gain experience developing games outside of the classroom. Although COGS is colloquially referred to as the "game development club", it is open to students of all majors from any of the three PennWest campuses.
